The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi, met with the Special Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mrs. Catriona Laing, at the Presidential Palace today.
The meeting discussed cooperation between Somaliland and the UN, including how to accelerate and strengthen UN projects in Somaliland. They also discussed the upcoming Somaliland-Somalia talks and the ongoing conflict in Las Anod. The meeting ended with a commitment from both sides to work closely together.
President Bihi was accompanied at the meeting by the Ministers of the Ministry of Interior, Planning and National Development, Financial Development along with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Special Envoy for the Somaliland-Somalia talks. The delegation was accompanied by the head of the United Nations office in Hargeisa and other officials.
