The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, today concluded a training course for 253 officers from the Police, Immigration and Coast Guard, who have completed their lieutenant training.

The ceremony, held at the Mandera Military Academy, was attended by cabinet ministers, parliamentarians, army commanders, teachers, graduating officers and other dignitaries. 

Speaking at the event, senior officials from Mandera Academy spoke at length about the experiences of today’s graduating officers and congratulated the young graduates, describing them as the future of this country’s various forces. 

Similarly, several Commanders from the Police, Military and Coast Guard, addressing the gathering, commended the young officers who graduated from the training college today, and suggested that they apply the knowledge they have acquired to their work in their communities.

The Minister of Interior, Hon. Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, congratulated the young officers who graduated today, and noted that the nation has invested a lot of time in getting them here and that those stripes put on their shoulders come with some high expectations. 

His excellency, the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, concluded the ceremony by expressing his sincere congratulations to the young officers who graduated today, in particular the women who were promoted to lieutenants, and described them as a beacon of hope for the country.

Finally, the President awarded ranks to the young officers who graduated from Mandera College today, both men and women, some of whom received one star and others two.
