The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi, on a working visit to the coastal city of Berbera, today inspected a new food and medicine testing facility in Berbera.

First, the Chairman of the Quality Assurance Agency of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Muse Hassan Yusuf, briefed the President on the new buildings that all have state of the art equipment and how it will meet the national laboratory needs.

The President, accompanied by members of his delegation, went one by one to the various rooms of the National Laboratory Center, which was established by the Quality Assurance Agency, and was welcomed by various officials and staff of the agency.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Finance Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Saad Ali Shire said that the modern construction of these buildings and its equipment have been funded by the citizens’ tax, adding that the country is on the path to self-sufficiency. 

President Bihi, in a brief address at the inspection forum, commended the leadership of the Quality Assurance Agency and urged them to continue achieving the national aspirations of our country, and called on the general public to help build their country.
