In the 121st session of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. President Muse Bihi Abdi and Vice President Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Saylici) focused on crucial matters concerning Security and Trade. During the session, several important rules were approved.

The Council of Ministers commenced by attentively listening to a comprehensive briefing on the country’s security situation from the esteemed Minister of Interior, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed. The council also received a report from the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Tourism, Mohamud Hassan Saad (Sergeant), who addressed various business issues in the country.

Additionally, the Council of Ministers conducted an extensive discussion and analysis on proposed amendments and supplements to two laws. These legal proposals were prepared by the Attorney General, the Ministry of Animal Husbandry and Rural Development, and the Disaster Management Agency and the National Food Reserve. The laws in question are:

  1. Amendments and supplements to the Animal Husbandry Act, Act No. 34/2006.
  2. Amendments and supplements to the Disaster Management Agency Act and the National Food Reserve, Act No. 35/2007.

Finally, President Muse Bihi Abdi cast his vote in favor of both laws, which were unanimously approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. They will now be forwarded to the House of Representatives of the Republic of Somaliland for further consideration.
