His Excellency, President of the Republic of Somaliland, Musa Bihi Abdi, today officially launched the Somaliland National Examinations. The exams are being held for fourth graders in high schools and eighth graders in middle schools across the country.

President Bihi was joined by the Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Diriye (Toorno), and the chairman of the National Examinations, Mr. Daoud Ahmed Farah. They officially opened the exams at Sheikh Ibrahim Sheikh Yusuf Sheikh Madar High School in Hargeisa.

In his speech, President Bihi urged the students to do their best and to focus on their studies. He also thanked the Ministry of Education for its efforts in preparing for the exams.

“I congratulate the Ministry of Education and the whole nation of Somaliland for its development in the field of education,” said President Bihi. “I wish all the students success in the exam.”

The chairman of the National Examinations, Mr. Daoud Ahmed Farah, said that this year, 25,000 middle school students and 16,000 high school students will sit for the exams. He also said that 3,243 students in Sool Region will take the exams at a later date due to the security situation in the region.

The exams are being held in 300 locations across the country. They will cover a range of subjects, including mathematics, science, English, and Somali.

President Bihi also inspected some of the voter registration centers in Hargeisa and urged citizens to vote in the upcoming elections.
